Queen's Beasts

A set of ten heraldic figures, reflecting the ancestry of *Elizabeth II. Inspired by the example of the *King's Beasts, they were modelled in plaster by James Woodford in 1953. The original set was placed that summer outside *Westminster Abbey for the *Coronation. Copies in *Portland stone now stand in *Kew Gardens.
