Zinoviev letter
|
|
A document, probably a forgery, which was supposedly sent to the British Communist party by Grigori Zinoviev, head of the Communist International, urging armed revolution. It was published in the press a few days before the general election of 1924, and as an anti-leftist scare contributed to the defeat of Ramsay *MacDonald's coalition government.
