Yonghy-Bonghy-Bò
|
|
Central character in Edward *Lear's nonsense song The Courtship of the Yonghy-Bonghy-Bò. He lives on the coast of Coromandel and courts the Lady Jingly Jones, offering her all his worldly goods (two old chairs, and half a candle, one old jug without a handle). But he is too late. To her great regret she already has a husband in England, Handel Jones, who sends her an unceasing supply of Dorking chickens.
