The Jules Rimet Trophy was the prize offered by FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) for the first World Cup of association *football in 1930. Won on that occasion by Uruguay, and subsequently competed for every fourth year, the cup became the property of Brazil with their third win, in 1970. The new trophy is the FIFA World Cup. England won in July 1966, captained by Bobby Moore. In March of that year the World Cup had been stolen, when on exhibition in Westminster Hall; it was discovered a week later, in a south London garden, by a mongrel called Pickles. A World Cup in cricket, competed for in one-day matches, has been held every four years since 1975. And there are World Cups, also on a 4-year cycle, in rugby union and rugby league.
