(London W1) One of Britain's largest charitable trusts, established by Isaac Wolfson (see *Great Universal Stores). It specializes in medicine, education and the arts. He and his wife Edith, followed by other members of the family, also funded the separate Wolfson Family Charitable Trust, originally for Jewish charities but now mainly giving grants to medical and educational institutions in the UK.
