(1771–1844) Silversmith who established himself at the head of his profession from a young age, setting up on his own in 1796. He is famous for his elaborate presentation pieces, of which one of the earliest is also one of the best known – the 'Battle of the Nile Cup' (National Maritime Museum), presented to Nelson after his victory in 1798 near the mouth of the Nile.
