Songs of Innocence
|
|
(1789) Book of poems by William *Blake giving a gentle and childlike view of creation, as when the question 'Little Lamb, who made thee?' is answered: He is called by thy name, For he calls himself a Lamb. He is meek, and he is mild; He became a little child. This was but one half of Blake's dual vision; it was balanced by the darker side, five years later, in his *Songs of Innocence and Experience.
