(10km/6m E of Stafford) House first built in 1695 and much enlarged and altered throughout the 18C. It is known in particular for the series of early *Greek Revival monuments in the park, designed by 'Athenian' Stuart. The main ones, constructed in the 1760s, are the Tower of the Winds, the Triumphal Arch and the Lanthorn of Demosthenes.
