(b. 1921, kt 1981) Welsh comedian and tenor, who made his debut in 1947 at the *Windmill Theatre and became a celebrity on The *Goon Show (1952–60). His main career has been in variety (with frequent appearances in the *Royal Variety Performance), but he had a notable success in musical comedy with a long run in Pickwick (1963).
