(Wyddgrug in Welsh, 9000 in 1991) Town in northeast Wales; administrative centre of Clwyd. The church, mainly 15C, is known for its carved capitals and its mural paintings of animals. Daniel *Owen was a native of the town and there is a museum in his honour.
