(1830–1904) Photographer who first revealed the exact patterns of movement of horses and other creatures, using a series of cameras with their shutters linked to trip wires. Born plain Edward Muggeridge in Kingston upon Thames (which now has his archives), he emigrated in his twenties to the USA and it was there that he built his career.
