One of the most versatile aircraft of World War II, twin-engined and acting as fighter, reconnaissance plane and fast lightweight bomber. Variously known as the Mozzie or the Wooden Wonder, it was made of wood, by de Havilland, with a total production of nearly 8000. It was in service with the RAF from 1941 to 1955.
