Lochinvar

The hero of a song which is part of Marmion (1808), a long narrative poem by Walter *Scott. Lord Lochinvar rides 'out of the west' to snatch from the bridal feast his beloved Ellen, who is about to be married to 'a laggard in love, and a dastard in war'.
