Llywelyn ab Iorwerth

(known as Llywelyn the Great, d. 1240) Ruler of Gwynedd who established control over the greater part of *Wales, receiving feudal homage from the other Welsh princes. He was succeeded by his son David ap Llywelyn (c.1208–46), who was the first to assume the title of Prince of *Wales.
