King's Troop
|
|
The mounted troop of the *Royal Artillery, seen displaying their ancient skills when giving *royal salutes or in the Royal Tournament. By the 1930s the whole of the Royal Horse Artillery was mechanized, but after World War II a Riding Troop was re-established for ceremonial duties. It was named the King's Troop in 1947, and on her accession in 1952 Elizabeth II ordered that it keep that name in memory of her father.
