(1949) One of the *Ealing comedies, a brilliantly debonair account of a young man (played by Dennis Price) murdering in turn the eight eccentric members of the Ascoyne d'Ascoyne family who stand between him and a dukedom. The film's stroke of genius is that all the victims, male and female alike, are played by Alec *Guinness.
