(London W1) The headquarters of *BBC radio, custom-built in 1928–32 to provide sound-proof studios in the heart of London. In his carving above the entrance Eric *Gill used a theme from The *Tempest to symbolize radio – Prospero sending the spirit Ariel out into the world.
