(19km/12m NW of Lancaster across Morecambe Bay) Stately home dating in part back to the 17C but of interest mainly for the ornately detailed Elizabethan-style west wing, built in the 1870s to the design of two Lancaster architects, Paley and Austin. The gardens and pleasure grounds now contain many attractions, including the Lakeland Motor Museum.
