Ted Heath
|
|
(1900–69) Trombonist and bandleader who established the Ted Heath Band in 1944, imitating the US big-band style of Glenn Miller and others. He wrote his own theme song Listen to My Music (1944), which was also the title of his 1957 autobiography. In London the band was a regular feature of the Hammersmith Palais de Danse. Their hit singles included Hot Toddy (1953) and Swingin' Shepherd Blues (1958).
