Kate Greenaway
|
|
(1846–1901) Illustrator whose charming and slightly stilted scenes of children, dressed anachronistically in clothes of the early 19C, made her work immensely successful in late Victorian Britain (a great period for colour-printed children's books). They even caused a 20C fashion for what became known as Kate Greenaway dresses.
