Grâce Dieu
|
|
Warship built for *Henry V at Southampton in 1418, one of the largest of the new 'men-of-war' which were designed to carry cannon. She was struck by lightning and burnt out before she had put to sea. She probably had three masts, and the remains of her hull (discovered in the river at Hamble in 1933) revealed that she was more than 38m/125ft in length. The Henry Grâce à Dieu, better known as the *Great Harry, is a different ship built in the following century.
