(27km/17m W of Fort William) Round tower, 20m/65ft high, built by Alexander Macdonald in 1815 to mark the spot where Charles Edward *Stuart raised his standard 70 years earlier, on 19 August 1745, to gather the clans and begin the *'45 Rebellion. The figure of a Highlander, sculpted by John Greenshields, was placed on top in 1834.
