Farnborough Air Show
|
|
Event held every other year in the first week of September at Farnborough in Hampshire – the home of the Royal Aircraft Establishment. It is a trade show for the sale of aircraft, with a flying display each afternoon as a public entertainment. The first show was held at Olympia in 1918; in 1932 the exhibition moved to Hendon, north of London, where it was for the first time linked with flying displays; and since 1948 it has been at Farnborough. It was held each year until 1962, when it became biennial (alternating with the Paris Show).
