Edinburgh Festival
|
|
Running for three weeks in August every year since 1947, the Edinburgh International Festival of Music and Drama claims now to be the largest arts festival in the world. This is due to the growth of the so-called Fringe, formed of literally hundreds of small companies which crowd in to add their performances to those more officially on offer. The most famous show to have emerged from the festival, *Beyond the Fringe, was in spite of its title an official production.
