Dr Who
|
|
(BBC 1963–89) Science-fiction television serial, aimed at older children but with a cult status among many adults. It followed the adventures of a Time Lord, Dr Who, who has the power to travel through both time and space in his Tardis (a vehicle disguised as a police box and an acronym for Time And Relative Dimension In Space). His main opponents are the Daleks, a race of robots with staccato mechanical voices. The first Dr Who was William Hartnell, followed by Jon Pertwee, Patrick Troughton, Tom Baker and others.
