(1977) Full-length surrealist ballet based on the life and works of the Spanish poet Lorca. Conceived by Lindsay Kemp and choreographed by Christopher *Bruce for the Ballet Rambert, it was first presented on a thrust stage in London's Round House, a converted railway engine shed. The music, by Carlos Miranda, is based on traditional Spanish songs. A televised version (BBC 1982) won the Prix Italia Music Award.
