Bentley
|
|
One of the greatest names among British sports cars. Designed in 1919 by William Owen Bentley (1888–1971), the 3-litre model had five victories at Le Mans (1924, 27, 28, 29, 30). The firm, with its factory at Cricklewood in northwest London, was bought in 1931 by *Rolls Royce, which has continued to manufacture Bentleys – now more associated with great luxury than with the rigours of Le Mans.
