Blue Guides
|
|
Series of detailed guide books to Britain and foreign countries, launched in 1915 when Finlay and James Muirhead published Blue Guide to London and its Environs. This was later issued in French by Hachette as a Guide Bleu. Hachette in turn then produced a Guide Bleu to Paris, which was issued by Muirhead in English – the beginning of a two-way collaboration which lasted until 1933. The series has continued, published now by A&C Black. The 50th Blue Guide, to Tuscany, appeared in 1993.
