Berkeley Square
|
|
(London W1) Square laid out in the 1730s, which still has its 18C houses on the west side. Its fame derives from the song A Nightingale sang in Berkeley Square, written in 1940 by a British lyricist (Eric Maschwitz, 1901–69) and an American composer (Manning Sherwin, 1902–74).
