Belle Vue
|
|
Public gardens of great popularity in 19C Manchester; they opened in 1836, with a zoo as the chief attraction, but the area has now been built over. The nearby stadium has been used since 1987 for greyhound racing and speedway. Belle Vue was closely associated with the development of the *brass band movement.
