Widdicombe Fair
|
|
A *ballad about the horse fair at Widecombe-in-the-Moor in Devon (still held on the second Tuesday in September), which has become a popular song because of the pleasure of repeating the names of Bill Brewer, Jan Stewer, Peter Gurney, Peter Davy, Dan'l Whiddon, Harry Hawk, old Uncle Tom Cobbleigh and all, who together go to the fair with the grey mare borrowed from Tom Pearse.
