Barbarians
|
|
(known as the Baa-Baas) *Rugby union football club which distinguished players are invited to join. Founded in Bradford in 1890, it has no clubhouse or ground of its own. There are six fixtures each year against English and Welsh clubs, and since 1948 international teams have usually finished a tour of Britain with a game against the Barbarians. The 1973 match against New Zealand at Cardiff is remembered for one of the game's classic moments, with a run almost the entire length of the field involving six passes and ending with a try by Gareth Edwards.
